New project: Honeywell Lane

21/7/2021

Category: Information

We're delighted to be launching our new range of framed original textile artworks.

Each of these pieces of textile art, created using embroidery and needle-felting, depicts a pretty little house in a scene from Honeywell Lane - one corner of an imaginary little village.

These are finished and framed products (not kits), lovingly made by hand and ready to hang on the wall. They make perfect gifts, especially for a house-warming.

Our New Instant Download Christmas Tree Decoration Patterns

18/11/2020

Category: Information
Over the summer months we've been busy designing and making three new projects with Christmas in mind. Each of these is an instant pdf download, so you can buy one from our Etsy shop and start sewing straight away!

Your download contains instructions that you can print out or read on-screen - or both, whichever suits you best. The instructions consist of detailed, step-by-step guides, with colour photos of every stage. Check the Etsy page of the items for details of the threads and other materials you'll need.

The first of these wonderful little projects is a pretty First Stocking & Glove Set. As with the other projects, you can add a loop of twine and hang them from the Christmas tree, or put them on the mantelpiece as ornaments, or pin to your coat or bag as brooches! This link will take you straight there:

The second project is Gretel's Delight - a gorgeous little Gingerbread Cottage. We've made a couple of 3D gingerbread cottages before - the kits are still available from our website here: www.sakoran.co.uk/teeny-christmas
But if you fancy a cute little 2D version, Gretel's Delight is the right one for you. Follow the link here to see more:

Our third project is a very Jolly Santa (Father Christmas). We think this one's really good fun and, like the others, will bring cuteness, style and colour to your Christmas Tree or mantelpiece. For more details, follow this link:

There's still still plenty of time to make one of these for yourself or a friend - or to start sewing for next year!

We hope you are all keeping safe and well and wish you all the best for the Holiday Season, a wonderful Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

P.S. We still have 3D Christmas Tree kits available. If you'd like one, the link is here:

International Postage - Tips and Suggestions

1/10/2017

Category: International Orders
We love hearing from our fans all over the world and it's lovely to receive their orders too. We are aware of course that there are some issues regarding international shipping. At the moment, shipping to UK addresses is free because the costs are relatively small and we can absorb those. With international orders even the cheapest method is relatively expensive and can be unreliable.

Some time ago we took the decision to use Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed (even though this isn't the cheapest option) because we found that occasionally items went astray. Track and Sign gives us more confidence that the items will actually get to you. If however the item isn't delivered, we get compensation from Royal Mail and can replace your order quickly.

Secondly, the UK system of PayPal differs from the US one and is slightly less flexible to implement. At the moment, if you are ordering items from anywhere outside the UK, you have to add the items you want to your shopping cart and then add international postage according to your 'World Zone'. Of course ideally this is something that would happen automatically at the checkout. But making this happen through PayPal is proving surprisingly tricky. We are working on fixing this — even if it means going to another payment system provider — but until we do, we are stuck with this slightly cumbersome method.

There is an alternative though. If you having trouble ordering through our site you can instead simply email us with listing the items you want, plus your full postage address, and we can send you a PayPal invoice. This is often much the easiest method as you avoid all the shopping carts and technical issues on the site.

If you have any queries though, contact us and we'll do our best to help.

New Butterfly Project - Pink Jezebel

16/9/2017

Category: Information
We're delighted to be launching the second kit in our Natural Wonders Collection — the Pink Jezebel!

Based on the Common Jezebel Delias eucharis, this lovely butterfly brooch makes a wonderful addition to our series of 3D embroidery kits.

As usual, the kit comes with a fully illustrated booklet that takes you step-by-step through making this novel and attractive brooch. With easy-to-follow stitching diagrams and charts, this project really isn’t as hard as it looks. In fact, with little experience and a bit of dedication, you should find it relatively easy to make your own fabulous butterfly creation!

You can read more about the kit here: www.sakoran.co.uk/butterfly.html#pinkj

If you haven't seen it already, take a look at our Blue Wanderer butterfly brooch kit too.
